About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Construction Planner to join their team, supporting projects across Edinburgh and surrounding areas. This role is crucial for developing, managing, and optimizing project schedules to ensure efficient project delivery. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to create robust construction plans, identify critical paths, and mitigate potential delays. This hybrid position offers flexibility, allowing you to contribute strategically from both the office and a remote location, while ensuring project timelines are met effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project programmes and master schedules using planning software.
- Collaborate with project teams to gather information, define project milestones, and identify resource requirements.
- Analyse project risks and develop contingency plans to address potential delays.
- Monitor construction progress against the plan, reporting on variances and proposing corrective actions.
- Prepare and present planning reports, including progress updates and look-ahead schedules.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between all parties involved in the planning process.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Planner or in a similar role within the industry.
- Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Asta PowerProject.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a hybrid team.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in construction, engineering, or project management.
