Construction Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Construction Planner to join their team in Reading . You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring construction schedules for various projects, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely completion. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of construction sequencing and project management principles. Working within the dynamic construction sector of Berkshire , you will play a vital role in optimizing project delivery and contributing to the success of significant building and infrastructure developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed construction master schedules and phasing plans using project management software.
• Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to gather information for schedule development and updates.
• Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule, identify potential delays, and develop recovery plans.
• Analyse project risks and their potential impact on the schedule, implementing mitigation strategies.
• Prepare regular progress reports, including look-ahead schedules and milestone tracking for stakeholders.
• Ensure that all planning activities comply with company procedures and contractual obligations .

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler.
• Proficiency in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Asta Powerproject.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site operations.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with project teams.
