Construction Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Construction Planner to join their team in Plymouth . This role is integral to the successful delivery of construction projects, involving the development, management, and monitoring of detailed project schedules. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to create realistic and achievable timelines, identify critical paths, and anticipate potential delays. Your expertise in planning will ensure that projects in the Plymouth region are executed efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive construction schedules using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject).
• Collaborate with project teams to define project scope, phases, tasks, and resource requirements.
• Identify critical paths, potential risks, and opportunities for schedule optimization.
• Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule, reporting on deviations and forecasting completion dates.
• Work with site teams to develop short-term look-ahead programmes.
• Assist in the preparation of tender programmes and method statements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and contractual obligations regarding scheduling.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler on significant building projects.
• Proficiency in construction planning software such as Primavera P6 , Microsoft Project, or Asta Powerproject.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and resource management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with project teams and stakeholders at all levels.
• A degree or HND in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
