About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organised and proactive Construction Planner to join their team in Reading . You will be responsible for developing and managing comprehensive construction schedules, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and on time. This hybrid role combines essential on-site assessment and coordination with remote capabilities for detailed schedule development and progress tracking. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to create realistic timelines, identify potential bottlenecks, and develop mitigation strategies. This is a vital role in optimising project delivery and ensuring success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed master programmes and construction schedules using planning software.
- Collaborate with project teams to define project scopes, activities, durations, and dependencies.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities within the schedule and develop contingency plans.
- Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule, reporting on deviations and proposing corrective actions.
- Liaise with site teams to gather accurate progress information and update the programme accordingly, using remote reporting tools.
- Ensure that the construction plan aligns with budget, resource, and contractual requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler.
- Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or ASTA Powerproject.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site operations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a distributed team.
