About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and organized Construction Planner to join their team in Reading, Berkshire . This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing for both remote planning activities and necessary on-site assessments. You will be responsible for developing and managing comprehensive project schedules, ensuring that all construction activities are sequenced logically and efficiently to meet project deadlines and budget constraints. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction sequencing, critical path analysis, and the ability to use planning software effectively. Your expertise in logistics and resource allocation will be crucial for the successful delivery of construction projects in the Reading area.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed construction project schedules.
- Utilize planning software to create Gantt charts, critical path analyses, and resource histograms.
- Coordinate with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to gather information for planning.
- Identify potential planning risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project progress against the plan and report on deviations and potential delays.
- Assist in the preparation of tender planning and feasibility studies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler.
- Proficiency in project planning software such as Primavera P6, ASTA PowerProject, or similar.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and site operations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills to effectively liaise with project stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
