About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Planner to join their team in Portsmouth . This role is crucial for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to ensure the timely and efficient completion of complex construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to create realistic and achievable construction plans, identify potential delays, and propose effective solutions, playing a vital role in the successful delivery of projects within the specified timelines and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using planning software (e.g., Asta Powerproject, P6).
- Collaborate with project teams to define project scope, activities, durations, and dependencies.
- Monitor project progress against the plan, identify critical path activities, and forecast completion dates.
- Prepare regular progress reports, including visual aids like Gantt charts and resource histograms.
- Analyze potential delays and develop mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Assist in the development of tender planning and logistics plans for new projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler.
- Proficiency with planning software such as Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
