Construction Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Planner to contribute to their projects in the Plymouth region. This role is essential for developing and managing construction project schedules, ensuring that all activities are coordinated effectively to meet deadlines and budget constraints. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to create realistic and achievable plans, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies. The hybrid nature of this role allows for a balance between on-site assessments and remote planning and analysis, providing flexibility while ensuring comprehensive project oversight. This is a key position for a meticulous planner dedicated to the successful execution of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain detailed construction project schedules using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Collaborate with project teams to define project scope, phases, and resource requirements.
• Identify critical path activities, potential delays, and develop contingency plans.
• Monitor project progress against the schedule, reporting on performance and recommending adjustments.
• Conduct site visits to gather information and assess progress for accurate planning.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding project timelines and schedule updates.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 , Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, sequences, and interdependencies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and reporting skills, suitable for both on-site and remote interactions.
