Construction Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and forward-thinking Construction Planner to join their team in Edinburgh , operating under a hybrid work arrangement. You will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring comprehensive construction schedules for a variety of projects. Your expertise will ensure that projects are planned efficiently, resources are optimized, and potential delays are identified and mitigated proactively. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes and the ability to utilize advanced planning software to create realistic and achievable project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed construction project plans, programs, and schedules using planning software.
• Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to define project scope, milestones, and dependencies.
• Monitor project progress against the plan, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions.
• Produce regular progress reports, including look-ahead schedules and critical path analysis.
• Assess the impact of changes and variations on the project schedule and costs.
• Ensure all planning activities comply with company standards and client requirements, utilizing hybrid work flexibility for coordination.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler within the UK construction industry.
• Proficiency in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6, ASTA Powerproject, or Microsoft Project.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site operations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Adaptability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, coordinating with teams remotely and on-site.
