Construction Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Planner to join their team, working in a hybrid capacity primarily based in Edinburgh . You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules, ensuring that all construction activities are planned efficiently to meet project objectives. Your role involves close collaboration with project managers, engineers, and site teams to create realistic and achievable timelines, identify potential risks and delays, and propose mitigation strategies. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes and excellent proficiency with planning software to support the successful delivery of complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Collaborate with project teams to define project scope, activities, and durations.
• Identify critical path activities, potential delays, and resource constraints.
• Prepare baseline schedules and monitor progress against them, updating schedules regularly.
• Produce weekly and monthly progress reports, highlighting key milestones and deviations.
• Assist in the development of recovery plans when projects fall behind schedule.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler.
• Proficiency in industry-standard planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project lifecycles.
• Ability to analyze project data and identify potential risks and opportunities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Degree or HND in Construction, Engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
