Construction Project Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Construction Project Engineer to join their team in Birmingham . In this role, you will provide essential technical support and project management assistance throughout the entire lifecycle of construction projects, from initial planning to final handover. You will play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards, collaborating with site teams, designers, and commercial departments to overcome technical challenges and maintain project momentum in a key regional hub.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects.
• Review project plans, specifications, and technical drawings to identify potential issues and ensure constructability.
• Monitor site progress, quality, and safety, reporting any deviations or concerns.
• Manage project documentation, including RFI's, submittals, and change orders.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Support the project management team in budget control and schedule adherence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in a construction project engineering or site-based role.
• Familiarity with construction methods and materials.
• Strong understanding of project management principles and health and safety best practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
