Construction Site Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a competent and detail-oriented Construction Site Engineer to support their projects in the Reading area. You will be responsible for ensuring that construction activities are carried out according to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. This role involves a blend of on-site supervision and technical support, bridging the gap between design and execution. You will work closely with the site manager, subcontractors, and surveyors to solve technical challenges and maintain the progress of construction works, ensuring efficient and accurate project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Supervise and direct site activities to ensure work is carried out to correct standards.
• Conduct quality control checks and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Manage setting out operations and ensure accuracy of construction elements.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and the site management team.
• Identify and resolve technical issues that arise on site.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline.
• Experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar technical role on construction sites.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and using surveying equipment.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures on construction sites.
