About the Role

Our client is looking for a diligent and hands-on Construction Site Supervisor to join their team in Portsmouth, Hampshire . This is an on-site role essential for overseeing the daily activities on construction projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that work is carried out efficiently, safely, and to the required standards, acting as the key link between the site team and project management. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in construction, a keen eye for detail, and strong leadership capabilities to motivate and guide the workforce. Your role will be critical in maintaining the smooth operation and quality of work on Portsmouth construction sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily construction activities and ensure work progresses as per the project schedule.
• Ensure all site personnel adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Monitor the quality of work performed by tradespeople and subcontractors.
• Manage the allocation of labor, materials, and equipment on site.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for the site team.
• Report on site progress, issues, and resource requirements to the Project Manager.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within construction.
• Solid understanding of construction processes, building codes, and safety best practices.
• Excellent practical knowledge of construction trades.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
• Valid CSCS card or equivalent certification is essential.
