About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on and experienced Construction Site Supervisor to oversee operations on projects in and around Plymouth . In this critical role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring that work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. You will lead and guide site teams, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to take on a challenging role within a reputable construction company, contributing directly to the successful delivery of projects in the Devon region.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct all on-site construction activities, ensuring work is performed safely and to specification.
- Coordinate the activities of tradespeople, subcontractors, and direct labour.
- Monitor progress against the project schedule and report any deviations to the project manager.
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations and site rules at all times.
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure quality of workmanship and materials.
- Manage site logistics, including material delivery and equipment utilization.
- Maintain site records, including daily logs and safety checklists.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor , Foreman, or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building methods, and materials.
- Excellent leadership and team supervision skills.
- A good understanding of health and safety legislation and its practical application.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Relevant CSCS card and health and safety training (e.g., SSSTS) are essential.
