Continuous Improvement Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead process enhancement initiatives at their facility in Edinburgh . This role is essential for fostering a culture of ongoing improvement by identifying inefficiencies and implementing data-driven solutions. You will apply your expertise in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize production, reduce waste, and increase overall operational effectiveness. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, adept at working with diverse teams to achieve measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for process improvement through observation, data analysis, and engagement with operational teams.
• Lead and facilitate Kaizen events and Lean Six Sigma projects to drive measurable improvements in quality, cost, and delivery.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to sustain improvement gains and ensure best practices are followed.
• Train and mentor employees at all levels on continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational efficiency and report on progress towards improvement goals.
• Collaborate with department managers to integrate continuous improvement principles into daily operations and strategic planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in a continuous improvement or process engineering role.
• Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is highly desirable.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing Lean tools (e.g., 5S, VSM, Poka-Yoke).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and present findings clearly.
• Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills, with the ability to motivate and influence others.
