Contracts Manager – M&E Projects
Location: Hybrid / Office based in Kent
Salary: £80,000 to £90,000 DOE plus benefits
Hours: Monday-Friday / 8am to 5pm
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
We’re recruiting an experienced Contracts Manager to take ownership of multiple M&E projects from pre-construction through to completion, leading project teams and acting as a senior point of contact for clients.
You’ll be joining a well-established and rapidly growing M&E contractor with a strong reputation across the South East and London. Following significant organic growth and an expanding project portfolio, the business is now looking for a senior professional to help drive the next stage of its development.
This is a key leadership position where you’ll have genuine responsibility for project delivery, commercial performance, client relationships and team development, with the opportunity to make a real impact as the business continues to grow.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing multiple M&E projects from design and mobilisation through to handover
- Leading Project Managers, Project Engineers and Site Supervisors
- Overseeing design, procurement, mobilisation and construction
- Managing project programmes, budgets, forecasts and cash flow
- Reviewing and approving variations and subcontract packages
- Monitoring project performance, costs, quality and programme
- Leading client and internal project meetings
- Managing project risks, H&S and compliance
- Overseeing project completion, handover and O&M documentation
- Mentoring, developing and managing direct reports
What We're Looking For
- Proven M&E Contracts/Project Management experience within school environments
- Strong understanding of M&E building services and construction
- Experience managing multiple live projects simultaneously
- Strong commercial and financial management skills
- Knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
- Strong programme and procurement experience
- Good knowledge of CDM 2015, CPP, RAMS and H&S
- Proven leadership and people management experience
- Excellent client and stakeholder management skills
- CSCS Black Card or willingness to obtain, SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely
- Full UK Driving Licence, Enhanced DBS and BPSS or willingness to obtain
Desirable
- HNC, HND or Degree in Building Services, Construction or Engineering
- NEBOSH qualification
- CIOB, CIBSE, IET or CABE membership
- SC or DV clearance
