About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Contracts Manager to oversee commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects in the Oxford region. This strategic role involves managing client and subcontractor agreements, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and driving profitable outcomes. You will be responsible for the full contract lifecycle, from tender negotiation to final account settlement. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer construction contracts from award to completion.
- Negotiate contract terms, conditions, and variations with clients and subcontractors.
- Monitor contract performance, ensuring compliance with obligations and deliverables.
- Identify, assess, and manage contractual risks and opportunities.
- Oversee the tendering process and prepare contractual documentation.
- Manage project final accounts and resolve any disputes efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor with contract management responsibilities.
- In-depth knowledge of various forms of construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT).
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Excellent understanding of construction law and contractual principles.
- Ability to manage multiple contracts and projects simultaneously.
- Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, or Construction Management is advantageous.
