Contracts Manager – Highways & Civil Engineering

£65,000 & £70,000 & Exceptional benefits package

Sphere Solutions are working with a leading Highways & Civil Engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager to join their South West Civils team.

This is a key leadership role overseeing the successful delivery and growth of highways and civil engineering projects from Exeter to Gloucester, with projects typically valued between £1 million and £15 million.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage up to three projects simultaneously

• Ensuring programme, quality, safety and commercial targets are achieved

• Provide leadership and support to Project Managers and site teams

• Support the business in securing new work through frameworks and competitive tenders

• Work with Pre-Construction and Planning teams

• Build strong relationships with clients, local authorities, stakeholders, subcontractors and supply chain partners.

• Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions where required.

About You

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Contracts Manager-level role.

• Proven background in highways, civil engineering or infrastructure.

• Experience managing multiple projects and operational delivery teams.

• Experience working with framework agreements and competitive tenders.

• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

• SMSTS qualified

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South West from Exeter to Gloucester

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline is desirable.

• Knowledge of NEC contracts and collaborative delivery models is preferred

Package

• Salary £65,000-£70,000 depending on experience
