Job Description
An established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team.
Responsibilities of Contracts Manager:
* Ensure projects are planned and programmed to the level of detail required for site teams to deliver without delays
* Monitor project resources, challenge overspend, and identify efficiencies to improve programme and margin
* Ensure commercial plans and end-of-life forecasts are in place and monitored monthly
* Review CVRs monthly with project teams and implement necessary actions
* Review and challenge project teams on Cost Plans, identifying risks and opportunities
* Ensure correct commercial engagement of subcontractors and compliance with commercial policies
* Produce and analyse progress reports, updated costs, and forecasts
* Manage both temporary and permanent design to meet project requirements
* Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure direct workforce is allocated in line with programme
* Set the highest standards of HS&E leadership, ensuring compliance with procedures and legal obligations
* Liaise with third parties to ensure compliance with HAUC, NRSWA, Chapter 8, and other regulatory standards
* Ensure ITPs and QA Files are produced and maintained, promoting best practice throughout
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, chairing and leading customer meetings
Essential Requirements for Contracts Manager:
* Extensive experience managing projects within a civil or water environment
* Good working knowledge of CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme & Risk Management, and cost control
* Knowledge of NEC contract including Early Warning and Compensation Event mechanisms
* HNC, HND, or Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent
* SMSTS and CSCS card
* Experience in pre-qualification and tendering for multi-disciplinary projects
* Excellent people management, influencing, and mentoring skills
* Proficiency in MS Project; P6 an advantage
Desirable:
* CEng MICE or equivalent
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate
