About the Role
Our client is looking for a seasoned Contracts Manager to lead their contractual and commercial operations for a range of exciting construction projects based out of their Bradford office. This strategic role involves overseeing all contract administration, ensuring compliance, managing risks, and maximizing profitability. You will be instrumental in negotiating terms, resolving disputes, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and subcontractors. This is a challenging yet rewarding position for a commercially astute professional within the West Yorkshire construction sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, negotiate, and manage all construction contracts, ensuring legal and commercial compliance.
- Oversee the administration of contract terms, including variations, claims, and dispute resolution.
- Manage the tendering process, subcontractor procurement, and negotiation of contract awards.
- Monitor project financial performance against contract terms, identifying and mitigating commercial risks.
- Liaise with legal counsel, clients, and project teams on all contractual matters.
- Ensure timely and accurate commercial reporting to senior management.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in contract management within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of various standard forms of construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT, FIDIC).
- Proven ability in commercial negotiation, dispute resolution, and risk management.
- Excellent understanding of construction processes and project delivery.
- Relevant degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
