About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Control Systems Electrical Engineer to join their dedicated team in Nottingham . This role is focused on the design, implementation, and maintenance of sophisticated control systems for industrial automation and process control applications. You will work on integrating hardware and software components to optimize system performance, reliability, and efficiency. The position requires a hands-on approach and a deep understanding of automation technologies within a professional, office-based setting, contributing to critical operational advancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical control panels, schematics, and wiring diagrams for automation systems.
- Program and configure PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives).
- Specify and select appropriate control system hardware and software components.
- Perform system integration, testing, and commissioning activities on-site and remotely.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with process engineers and other stakeholders to understand system requirements and deliver effective solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in designing, programming, and implementing industrial control systems.
- Proficiency with PLC programming software (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Experience with HMI/SCADA software and network configuration.
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
