Control Systems Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a specialist in industrial automation and control solutions, is looking for a talented Control Systems Electrical Engineer to join their innovative team based remotely, supporting projects primarily in the Milton Keynes area. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and commissioning sophisticated control systems for a variety of industrial applications, including manufacturing, logistics, and energy. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a deep understanding of PLC, HMI, and SCADA technologies. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical control panels and systems, including wiring schematics and logic diagrams.
• Program and commission PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Specify and select electrical components and instrumentation for automation projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and control system issues, both remotely and occasionally on-site.
• Collaborate with software engineers and project managers to deliver integrated automation solutions.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant electrical and safety standards.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in designing, programming, and commissioning industrial control systems .
• Proficiency with major PLC platforms and HMI/SCADA software packages.
• Familiarity with variable speed drives, robotics, and industrial networks.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent remote communication and problem-solving skills, with a self-motivated attitude.
