About the Role
Our client is seeking a specialized Control Systems Electrical Engineer to join their technical team in Derby . In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain electrical control systems for industrial automation and process control applications. You will work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and various sensors and actuators to develop efficient and reliable control solutions. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of automation principles, electrical hardware, and control software. You will play a key role in enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring the safety and functionality of complex industrial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical control panels and schematics for automated systems.
- Program and commission PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMIs.
- Select and integrate appropriate sensors, actuators, and instrumentation for control applications.
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on existing control systems to identify and resolve issues.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including control narratives, P&IDs, and electrical drawings.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers and operations teams to ensure seamless system integration and functionality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical control systems engineering.
- Proven experience with PLC programming and HMI development.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation hardware and software.
- Familiarity with various communication protocols used in industrial settings (e.g., Profibus, Modbus).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
