About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Control Systems Engineer to enhance their chemical process operations in Norwich . This hybrid role offers a dynamic work environment where you will design, implement, and maintain advanced control systems for chemical plants, optimizing performance and ensuring operational safety. You will leverage your expertise in automation and process control to improve efficiency, product quality, and system reliability. This position is ideal for an engineer who excels in both technical design and collaborative problem-solving, utilizing both remote and on-site capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and commission Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Develop advanced process control strategies to optimize plant performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems, instrumentation, and automation hardware/software.
- Develop and maintain control system documentation, including logic diagrams and configuration files.
- Collaborate with process engineers and operations teams to define control system requirements.
- Stay current with advancements in automation technology and implement them where beneficial.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in control systems engineering, preferably in the chemical industry.
- Proficiency with DCS and PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Emerson, Rockwell).
- Strong understanding of process dynamics, control theory, and instrumentation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing remote and on-site responsibilities.
