About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join their operations team in Derby , focusing on Energy Automation . You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems that ensure the efficient and safe operation of energy facilities. This hands-on role requires expertise in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial automation. Working within a dedicated engineering team, you will play a crucial role in optimizing processes and ensuring the reliability of our energy infrastructure, contributing to the smooth running of critical operations and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission PLC and SCADA systems for industrial control applications in the energy sector.
- Develop and maintain automation logic, ensuring system reliability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair control system hardware and software issues.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to identify areas for automation improvement.
- Prepare technical documentation, including logic diagrams, P&IDs, and user manuals.
- Ensure all control system designs and implementations comply with safety standards and operational requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing control systems , including PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus).
- Experience with HMI design and development.
- Understanding of industrial safety standards and practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
