About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join their team in Oxford , focusing on the design, implementation, and maintenance of sophisticated control systems for critical energy infrastructure . This role is essential for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of power generation facilities, transmission networks, and distribution systems. You will work with state-of-the-art automation technologies, including PLCs, SCADA, and DCS, to optimize performance and ensure system integrity. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of industrial automation, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to upholding the highest safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and configure PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems for various energy applications.
- Implement and maintain control logic, HMI screens, and alarm management systems.
- Perform system integration, testing, and commissioning of new control systems and modifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control system hardware and software in operational environments.
- Ensure control systems comply with relevant industry standards, cybersecurity best practices, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and operations teams to deliver effective automation solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and implementing industrial control systems.
- Proficiency with PLC programming platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider Electric).
- Experience with SCADA system configuration and HMI development.
- Understanding of networking protocols common in industrial automation.
- Familiarity with safety instrumented systems (SIS) and cybersecurity for industrial control systems is advantageous.
