Control Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client seeks a talented Control Systems Engineer to join their innovative team based in Belfast . This role is focused on the design, programming, and implementation of sophisticated control systems for a range of industrial automation projects. You will work with state-of-the-art technologies, collaborating closely with project managers and clients to deliver robust and efficient solutions that optimize processes and enhance operational performance. The ideal candidate is passionate about automation and possesses a strong technical aptitude for PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and commission PLC programs for various automation applications.
• Configure and implement Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems both remotely and on-site.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define system requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in control system technology and automation trends.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in programming and implementing industrial control systems.
• Proficiency with major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and associated software.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA software (e.g., Ignition, Wonderware, WinCC).
• Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to quality.
