Control Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Control Systems Engineer to join their engineering division, based in the Oxford area. This hybrid role involves the design, implementation, and support of sophisticated control systems for industrial processes. You will work on integrating hardware and software solutions to optimize automation, improve efficiency, and ensure the safe operation of complex production facilities, collaborating closely with operations and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems for industrial automation.
• Configure and program control logic, human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and safety instrumented systems (SIS).
• Provide technical support for control systems, troubleshooting issues and implementing upgrades.
• Collaborate with process engineers to define control strategies and system requirements.
• Develop and execute system testing and commissioning plans.
• Ensure control systems comply with industry standards and cybersecurity best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Control Systems Engineer in an industrial environment.
• Proficiency with major PLC/DCS platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Emerson).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA software development and integration.
• Strong understanding of industrial networks and communication protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for a hybrid work setting.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
