Control Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to contribute to their advanced operations in Brighton . This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining the automated control systems that are fundamental to the safe and efficient functioning of their processes within the Oil & Gas sector. You will work with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) to ensure optimal performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement system upgrades. The successful candidate will collaborate with process engineers, instrumentation technicians, and project managers to deliver robust and reliable automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and troubleshoot control systems , including DCS, PLC, and SCADA platforms.
• Develop and maintain control strategies, logic, and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
• Implement and manage Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) to ensure process safety compliance.
• Collaborate with instrumentation engineers to ensure proper integration of field devices.
• Support plant start-ups, shutdowns, and provide on-call troubleshooting for control system issues.
• Ensure cybersecurity of control systems and implement necessary protection measures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems engineering, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry or process automation.
• Proficiency with major DCS (e.g., Honeywell, Emerson) and PLC (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens) platforms.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and cybersecurity best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent attention to detail.
