About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join their team in Bristol , operating under a hybrid work model. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of industrial control systems essential for the efficient and safe operation of facilities within the Oil & Gas sector. This role involves working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and safety instrumented systems (SIS). The hybrid approach allows for focused engineering work and collaboration with operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and configure PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems for process control.
- Develop and test control logic, ensuring system functionality and safety.
- Implement and maintain Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) according to relevant standards.
- Troubleshoot control system issues and provide technical support to operations.
- Perform system upgrades and modifications, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Collaborate with instrumentation engineers and project teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with industrial automation and control systems in the Oil & Gas industry .
- Proficiency with PLC programming software (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens) and DCS platforms.
- Knowledge of SIS design and lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation and process control principles.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing office-based and site activities.
