About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Control Systems Engineer to join their established team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role involves the design, implementation, and optimisation of automated control systems for a variety of industrial applications. You will work on projects that enhance efficiency, safety, and performance, collaborating closely with both on-site and remote colleagues. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for industrial automation processes.
- Implement and test control algorithms to ensure optimal system performance and safety.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing control systems, minimising downtime.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to define system requirements and scope.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for control system designs and configurations.
- Provide technical support for the installation and commissioning of control systems.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing PLC and HMI systems using major vendor platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
- Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, Modbus).
- Familiarity with SCADA system architecture and implementation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site and remote responsibilities.
