Control Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join their engineering team in Sheffield . This hybrid role focuses on the design, implementation, and support of industrial control systems, ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of automated processes. You will work on a variety of projects, from developing new control logic to troubleshooting existing systems, collaborating with both on-site teams and remote specialists. Key Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for industrial automation.
• Develop and implement control strategies to optimize process performance and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues with control systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to integrate control systems into larger projects.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including electrical schematics, programming code, and user manuals.
• Stay current with advancements in automation technology and recommend improvements to existing systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in designing and programming PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi).
• Proficiency with HMI and SCADA software platforms.
• Strong understanding of industrial networks, instrumentation, and control theory.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, hybrid work environment.
• Experience with robotic integration and motion control is a plus.
