Electrical Design Engineer
£45-55k + Company Performance Bonus + Health Insurance + Pension

This is an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading manufacturer of high-tech bespoke machinery. Part of a global technology group, the business combines expertise in many different areas to help blue-chip manufacturers improve productivity, quality and manufacturing performance across sectors including Medical Devices, Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics and Precision Engineering.
Electrical Design Engineer – The Role:
* Design electrical systems and panel layouts for bespoke industrial automation and machine vision equipment
* Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and terminal plans using AutoCAD Electrical
* Specify electrical, control and safety components for automation machinery
* Prepare technical documentation including electrical drawings, process flow diagrams and control system architecture
* Work closely with Mechanical Design and Applications Engineers to deliver projects on time and to specification
* Coordinate with suppliers and support component selection throughout project delivery
* Support electrical panel build, machine wiring and electrical testing during manufacture
* Support ongoing improvements and modifications to existing automation systems
Electrical Design Engineer – What We're Looking For:
* Experience designing electrical systems for industrial machinery, automation or special purpose equipment
* Strong AutoCAD Electrical experience (or equivalent electrical CAD package)
* Experience producing electrical schematics, panel layouts and manufacturing documentation
* Good understanding of industrial electrical components, machine safety and control panel design
* Knowledge of industrial communication networks such as Profinet, Profibus, EtherNet/IP, TCP/IP or IO-Link
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a logical and methodical approach
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary engineering team
Desirable Experience:
* Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
* Knowledge of robotics and automated machinery
* Basic PLC fault-finding and commissioning experience
* Full UK Driving Licence - c5% of your time will be spent on client sites in the UK
