Controls Engineer East Midlands £45,000 – £60,000 overtime 37.5 hours per week Permanent
Controls EngineerAre you an experienced Controls Engineer with a strong background in PLC programming and industrial automation?
An established engineering business is looking for a Controls Engineer to join its controls team.
You’ll work on bespoke machinery and automation projects, from software design through to testing and commissioning.
What You'll Do Write PLC software from first principles Program Siemens TIA Portal / S7 and/or Rockwell Studio 5000 Develop and test safety-related control software Configure VFDs, servo drives and motion systems Work with Profinet, Profibus and EtherNet/IP Read electrical drawings and I/O schedules Fault-find control systems and machinery Produce technical project documentation Work alongside electrical and project engineering teams Commission systems at customer sitesWhat We're Looking ForThe successful Controls Engineer will have:
5 years' experience in industrial automation or machinery Strong PLC programming experience Siemens TIA Portal/S7 and/or Rockwell Studio 5000 Safety-related control experience VFD, drive and industrial network experience Ability to read electrical drawings Practical fault-finding experience Good technical documentation skills Full UK driving licence Right to work in the UKDesirable SkillsAny of the following would be beneficial:
Siemens S7 Classic / STL / IL KUKA, ABB or FANUC robotics Motion control
Cnc
Functional / machine safety
Hmi / Scada
