Job Role of the Controls Engineer

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Controls Engineer to join a well-established FMCG manufacturing site in Glasgow.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased engineer with a controls background and strong PLC fault-finding experience, looking to develop their career within a technically advanced industrial environment.

The role is hands-on, focusing on electrical and controls fault finding, PLC repairs and modifications, and supporting the reliability and performance of production machinery.

Sector – Manufacturing / Industrial / Engineering

Non-Negotiable Requirements Electrical bias Controls background, with the ability to fault find, repair and modify Allen Bradley or Mitsubishi PLCs Open to candidates from any industrial maintenance background Level 3 Engineering qualification or equivalent

Requirements for the Controls Engineer Carrying out electrical and controls fault finding across industrial machinery Diagnosing and repairing PLC-related faults Fault finding, repairing and modifying Allen Bradley or Mitsubishi PLCs Supporting PLC modifications and improvements Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance Supporting production to minimise downtime Identifying recurring faults and contributing to reliability improvements Working closely with the wider engineering and production teams Candidates from any industrial maintenance, manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, processing or similar environment are encouraged to apply
