About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Controls Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative team in Oxford . This role focuses on the mechanical aspects of control systems, including the design, integration, and testing of mechanical components that interface with electronic and software control elements. You will work on complex electro-mechanical systems, ensuring robust mechanical integrity and optimal performance. This hybrid role requires a balance of on-site work for hands-on testing and integration, alongside remote capabilities for design analysis and documentation, fostering a productive and adaptable work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical enclosures, mounts, and structures for control systems and instrumentation.
- Ensure the mechanical compatibility and integration of control system components with larger machinery or products.
- Perform vibration analysis and stress calculations for control system mechanical elements.
- Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to define requirements for mechanical interfaces.
- Develop and execute test plans for electro-mechanical control systems, focusing on mechanical performance.
- Document mechanical designs, assembly procedures, and testing protocols.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3-7 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on electro-mechanical systems .
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Inventor, Fusion 360) and basic analysis tools.
- Understanding of control systems principles, sensors, and actuators.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a hybrid team setting.
