Controls Systems Engineer
Peterlee (Site based)
12 Month Contract
36.5 Hours a week Monday Friday
Up to £28.35p/h PAYE plus holiday and pension contribution OR up to £47p/h Umbrella
The Controls Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting manufacturing controls systems, ensuring robust performance of production equipment through software support, diagnostics, machine tuning, and validation activities within a fast-paced factory environment.
What the Controls Systems Engineer do:
- Deliver controls and software support for manufacturing operations
- Diagnose and resolve equipment control system issues to minimise downtime
- Support commissioning, testing, and tuning of production machinery
- Develop a clear understanding of production procedures, analyse them, and drive continuous improvement
- Execute software updates, fault finding, and system optimisation
- Support validation and performance verification activities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing and maintenance teams
- Maintain accurate documentation of changes, testing, and issue resolution
What the Controls Systems Engineer Will Need:
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline
- Experience in industrial control systems and automation
- Knowledge of embedded control systems
- Demonstrated capability in fault diagnosis and root cause analysis
