Corporate Tax Lawyer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Corporate Tax Lawyer to join their esteemed tax practice in Edinburgh . This role requires a deep understanding of UK tax legislation and its application to corporate transactions and advisory work. You will be responsible for advising a diverse client base on complex tax matters, ensuring compliance and optimising tax strategies, all within a supportive and collaborative hybrid working model that offers significant professional engagement and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on a wide range of corporate tax issues, including M&A, reorganisations, and financing.
• Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies for clients, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
• Conduct tax due diligence for corporate transactions and advise on identified risks.
• Draft and negotiate tax clauses in transaction agreements and other legal documents.
• Assist with tax investigations and disputes, liaising with HMRC when necessary.
• Stay current with changes in tax law and advise clients proactively on impacts and opportunities.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' experience specialising in corporate tax law .
• In-depth knowledge of UK direct and indirect taxation as applied to corporate entities.
• Proven ability to advise on tax aspects of M&A, corporate restructuring, and international tax.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and client relationship management capabilities.
