Cost Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Cost Accountant to join their team, operating entirely on a remote basis. This position is perfect for an experienced professional looking for a fully remote role where they can contribute to optimising costs and improving financial efficiency. You will be responsible for analysing production costs, managing inventory valuation, and providing crucial data for pricing decisions and operational improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing cost accounting and a keen ability to identify cost-saving opportunities. This role offers the chance to work independently and collaboratively with teams across the business, all from a remote location.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse manufacturing costs, variances, and overheads to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Develop and maintain standard costing systems and product costing methodologies.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to production and inventory costs.
• Support inventory valuation and cycle counting processes.
• Provide financial analysis and support for new product development and process improvements.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to improve cost efficiency and profitability.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACMA , ACCA , ACA ) or equivalent experience in cost accounting.
• Proven experience in a cost accounting role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with costing software or ERP systems.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration in a remote setting.
