About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and efficient Courier Driver to join their fast-paced logistics operation based in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role involves the critical task of transporting and delivering various parcels and documents within tight deadlines across the North East. You will be the face of our client's service, interacting directly with customers and ensuring their satisfaction through reliable and prompt deliveries. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent navigational skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity and security of the items entrusted to them, playing a vital part in the company's supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and deliver packages and documents promptly and efficiently across the Newcastle upon Tyne region.
• Plan optimal delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize transit times.
• Ensure all deliveries are handled with care, maintaining the condition of goods.
• Utilize handheld devices for tracking deliveries and collecting electronic signatures.
• Adhere strictly to company policies regarding vehicle operation, safety, and customer interaction.
• Report any issues with deliveries, vehicle maintenance, or customer feedback to the operations manager.

Requirements

• A valid UK driving license with a clean driving record; experience with multi-drop deliveries is advantageous.
• Previous experience in a courier or delivery driver role.
• Familiarity with the Tyne and Wear area and surrounding locations.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
• Reliable and punctual, with a professional attitude towards work.
