Cover Supervisor
Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor looking for flexible, day-to-day work in secondary schools?
We are recruiting reliable and confident Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across South Manchester, starting as soon as possible. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, can adapt quickly to different school environments and is available for morning calls when schools require last-minute cover.
What is a Cover Supervisor?
A Cover Supervisor is an unqualified teacher that runs the class during teacher absences, delivering pre-set work and managing behaviour. All the work should be set and planned; you should just be there to deliver the work, manage the behaviour and lead the class.
The role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
Supervise classes during the short-term absence of the regular teacher – taking on the role of the main class teacher
Deliver pre-prepared work and ensure pupils remain focused
Manage classroom behaviour confidently and consistently
Follow each school’s policies and procedures
Provide support across a range of subjects and year groups
Create a positive and productive learning environment
Requirements
To be considered, you must:
Have previous experience working in a secondary school or as a Cover Supervisor
Be available to accept on-the-day calls for work
Be able to travel to schools across South Manchester
Have strong classroom and behaviour-management skills
Be dependable, professional and adaptable
Have a genuine commitment to supporting pupils and schools

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
