Cover Supervisor

Axcis Education is seeking a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Solihull. Role Overview

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise lessons across a range of subjects when teachers are absent, ensuring students remain focused, engaged, and working towards their learning objectives. You will play a key role in maintaining a positive classroom environment while supporting students' learning and wellbeing throughout the school day.

Location: Solihull

Start Date: September

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm

Pay: From £92.63 per day

Main Duties

• Supervise secondary school classes using work set by teaching staff.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials across various curriculum subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
• Encourage student participation, engagement, and achievement.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.
• Support students in completing tasks and meeting lesson expectations.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• Follow safeguarding, attendance, and behaviour procedures at all times.

Person Specification

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence leading and managing groups of young people
• Good behaviour management skills
• A calm, professional, and resilient attitude
• The ability to adapt quickly to different subjects and classrooms
• Previous experience working with young people (school-based experience is beneficial but not essential)
• A proactive and positive approach to supporting learning
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday
