Cover Supervisor | Key Details

Cover Supervisor | The Role
Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 when teachers are absent Deliver pre-planned work and ensure pupils remain on task Manage behaviour calmly and consistently in line with school policy Maintain a purposeful classroom environment Support pupils with routines, focus and access to learning Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and senior leaders
Cover Supervisor | Candidate Requirements
Previous classroom experience is strongly preferred Experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, HLTA, Youth Worker or Mentor would be suitable Confident leading a classroom of secondary-aged pupils Able to manage behaviour without relying on the class teacher being present Calm, firm and fair approach to setting expectations Strong communication and organisation skills Reliable, professional and able to commit consistently
