Novus are recruiting dedicated Cover Teachers to deliver high-quality education in secure environments for Novus, our prison education provider for various sites across the West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire learners and make a real impact while enjoying flexible work (i.e. ad hoc hours), holiday pay, pension contributions, and professional development.

We are particularly interested in speaking to specialists in Functional Skills – English or Maths, and have opportunities based at the following establishments across the West Midlands region:

HMP Birmingham, HMP Brinsford, HMP Featherstone, HMP Hewell, HMP Oakwood, HMP Stafford, HMP/YOI Stoke Heath and HMP Swinfen Hall

We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider for the West Midlands region, working as a Cover Teacher. This position is offered on a fixed term, ad-hoc/casual basis.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

• Teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
• Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
• Creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
• Achievement of quality targets
• Producing accurate and timely reports
