Creative Director - Animation Studio

About the Role

Our client, a cutting-edge Animation Studio in Cardiff , is seeking a visionary Creative Director to lead their artistic team and drive the conceptualization and execution of high-quality animated projects. In this role, you will be responsible for setting the creative vision, guiding artistic development across multiple projects, and ensuring the studio's work consistently meets the highest standards of quality and innovation. Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the overall creative vision and artistic direction for all animated projects produced by the studio.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire the animation, storyboarding, and art departments, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
• Collaborate with producers, directors, and clients to translate project briefs into compelling visual narratives.
• Oversee the development of character designs, environments, and overall visual style for animated content.
• Review and provide constructive feedback on artistic work at various stages of production, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, new technologies, and artistic styles to keep the studio at the forefront of animation innovation.

Requirements

• Significant experience in a creative leadership role within the animation or visual effects industry, such as Creative Director , Art Director, or Lead Animator.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional artistic talent, a keen eye for design, and experience leading creative teams on successful animated projects.
• Deep understanding of animation principles, storytelling, character development, and various animation techniques (2D, 3D, CG).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts clearly.
• Experience working with diverse clients and managing creative feedback loops effectively.
