Credit Controller 9 Month FTC Bedford £28,000 per annum 9 Month Fixed-Term Contract Maternity Cover Potential to be extended

Are you an experienced Credit Controller looking for your next opportunity within a busy and supportive Finance team?

We are recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller to join a well-established and growing business based in Bedford on an initial 9 -month fixed-term contract , providing maternity cover.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of customer accounts, building positive relationships and proactively resolving outstanding debt.

You'll join a collaborative Finance team and play an important role in maintaining healthy cash flow, while working closely with customers, Sales and other areas of the business.

What You'll Be Doing

• Managing customer accounts and proactively chasing outstanding and ageing debt
• Maximising cash collection in line with agreed payment terms
• Accurately allocating incoming payments against outstanding invoices
• Taking and processing customer card payments
• Authorising customer orders in line with agreed processes
• Producing and distributing aged debt reports
• Identifying potential debt issues and ensuring these are highlighted and resolved quickly
• Building positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
• Maintaining accurate customer and account records
• Supporting the wider Finance team with additional duties when required
• Identifying opportunities to improve Credit Control processes and ways of working

The core responsibilities are based directly xwwtmva on the role profile, including cash collection, payment allocation, aged-debt reporting, order authorisation and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

• Previous Credit Control experience is essential
• Experience proactively chasing outstanding debt and managing customer accounts
• Good understanding of accounting and finance processes a formal accounting qualification isn't essential
