About the Role
Our client seeks a meticulous and insightful Credit Risk Analyst to join their risk management team in Edinburgh . This role is central to assessing and mitigating credit risk across the company's lending portfolios. You will develop and maintain credit scoring models, analyze borrower financials, and provide recommendations to support sound credit decisions. Working within a hybrid model, you will collaborate with lending officers and senior management to ensure the health and stability of the company's financial exposure. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements and credit data to assess the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses.
- Develop, implement, and monitor credit scoring models and risk assessment tools.
- Provide clear and concise recommendations on loan applications and credit limit approvals.
- Monitor existing credit facilities for signs of distress and advise on appropriate actions.
- Stay updated on credit risk best practices and regulatory changes.
- Prepare regular reports on portfolio risk and key risk indicators for management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- 2+ years of experience in credit analysis, risk management, or a related financial role.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and credit risk principles.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with statistical software or databases is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
