Credit Risk Analyst

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Credit Risk Analyst to join their finance department in Southampton . This position is essential for evaluating the creditworthiness of potential borrowers and managing the associated risks for the organization. You will develop and implement credit scoring models, monitor loan portfolios, and provide insights to support sound lending decisions. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements, credit histories, and other data to assess borrower credit risk.
• Develop, validate, and implement credit scoring models and risk assessment tools.
• Monitor existing loan portfolios, identifying and reporting on potential credit deteriorations.
• Recommend credit limits, terms, and collateral requirements based on risk analysis.
• Prepare regular reports on credit risk exposure, portfolio quality, and key risk indicators.
• Collaborate with sales and relationship management teams to provide credit expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in credit analysis, risk management, or a related financial role.
• Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SAS) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of credit risk principles, financial modeling, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
