About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Risk Analyst to join their team in Portsmouth . This role involves evaluating the creditworthiness of potential borrowers and existing clients to mitigate financial risk for the institution. You will analyse financial data, develop risk models, and provide recommendations on credit policies and strategies within the banking and finance sector. The ideal candidate has a strong quantitative background, excellent analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of credit risk assessment methodologies. Key Responsibilities
- Analyse financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess borrower creditworthiness.
- Develop, implement, and validate credit scoring models and risk assessment tools.
- Monitor the credit portfolios for potential risks and identify early warning signs of default.
- Prepare comprehensive credit risk reports and present findings to the credit committee and senior management.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of credit policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and internal risk management guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in credit risk analysis, financial analysis, or a related role within banking and finance .
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, R, Python) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of credit risk principles, financial markets, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex risk concepts.
