About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and insightful Credit Risk Analyst to join their expanding financial services team in Cardiff . This role is crucial for assessing and mitigating the credit risk associated with lending activities. You will be responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of potential borrowers, developing risk models, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other data to assess the credit risk of new and existing clients.
- Develop, implement, and monitor credit scoring models and risk assessment tools.
- Recommend appropriate credit limits, terms, and collateral requirements.
- Monitor loan portfolios for signs of distress and proactively manage problem loans.
- Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and external regulatory guidelines.
- Prepare regular reports on credit portfolio quality and risk exposures for senior management in Cardiff .
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Demonstrated experience in credit analysis, risk management, or a similar role within the financial sector.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques; experience with SQL or statistical software is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
