Our client is seeking a meticulous and analytical Credit Risk Analyst to join their established financial institution in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is integral to assessing and managing the creditworthiness of clients and counterparties, thereby mitigating financial risk for the organisation. You will be responsible for analysing financial statements, credit reports, and market data to make informed recommendations on credit applications and portfolio management. Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of corporate clients and potential borrowers by analysing financial statements, cash flow projections, and credit histories.
- Assess and quantify credit risk associated with loan portfolios and other financial exposures.
- Develop and maintain credit risk models and scoring systems to support decision-making.
- Monitor existing credit facilities, ensuring compliance with loan covenants and identifying potential early warning signs of default.
- Prepare detailed credit reports and recommendations for the credit committee.
- Stay informed about economic conditions and industry trends that may impact credit risk.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in credit analysis, risk management, or a related banking role.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, ratio analysis, and cash flow assessment.
- Familiarity with credit risk modelling techniques and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Basel Accords).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial databases or analytical software.
